Yes, we have a serious problem. Stephen Harper, the Prime Minster of Canada, is putting a pipeline from the Alberta Oil Sand to the coast of British Columbia so he can trade oil with China. That doesn't sound too bad right? Wrong! The Northern Gateway Pipeline would run through, the Great Bear Rainforest, the last intact temperate rainforest on Earth. On top that, 2000 tankers a year would have to navigate through the dangerous BC coast which has not allow oil tanker on their coasts since the Exxon Valdez oil spill fearing a repeat of the incident.
